Welcome to Castell Deudraeth brasserie, an informal contemporary styled restaurant on the Portmeirion estate. 

Castell Deudraeth is open for lunch from 12.00 noon daily and every evening from 6.30pm. You are welcome to call in without a reservation however at busy times this may involved a wait for a table. If you prefer to book in advance call Castell Deudraeth direct on 01766 772400 or email


Castell BwytyIf you have a two course lunch at Castell Deudraeth you can request a free entry voucher to Portmeirion Village. This is only available for use after lunch and is valid for the rest of the day.

There is a children's menu available for children.



Lunch is available from 12.00 noon to 2.00pm daily.
Dinner is available from 6.30pm to 9.00pm every evening.

(From Easter the Castle will open until 2.30pm for lunch and until 9.30pm for evening meal)

Booking is not required but is advisable if you do not want to risk waiting for a table at busy times (School holidays, Sunday lunch, Friday and Saturday evenings for example).

Castell LawntRestaurant Manager Anwen Hughes and her team provide efficient and friendly service and Castell Deudraeth's Head Chef Mark Muscroft maintains a high standard of cooking (awared a Rosette by the AA).

Produce is sourced locally including scallops from the Llyn peninsula, Welsh oysters brought in daily from the Menai Straites, local mussels as well as various varieties of fish.

The interiors are contemporary with furniture by Benchmark Woodworking, local slate floors and plain white walls hung with paintings by Clough Williams-Ellis' grand-daughter Menna Angharad  .

Gardd Gefn CastellThe Bar has an extensive wine list with may served by the glass as well as cask and bottled beers and ales. 

Castell Deudraeth stocks 4 real ales  from Bragdy Nant

Architect Ale 4.6%

No 6 Dark Ale 5.5%

Village Golden Ale 4.3%

Stone Boat Light Ale 3.7%

The Castle also has  Brains bitter from South Wales on draught.

Welsh Whisky has made a comeback with the excellent Penderyn Welsh Whisky produced in the village of Penderyn.
Castell Deudraeth has several tables outside on the terrace for drinks and meals in fine weather.
