The Town Hall
Open daily 10am to 5pm for
self-service hot and cold meals, snacks, coffee and drinks.
The Town Hall (1937-38, listed Grade II* 1971), also known as Hercules Hall, was designed to house a Jacobean ceiling, panelling and mullioned windows salvaged from Emral in Flintshire. The Town Hall is Clough's single most substantial building at Portmeirion and one of his most successful.
The Terrace Self-Service restaurant is a later
extension to the main hall, designed by Susan Williams-Ellis and
completed in 1979. It has indoor and outdoor seating and has a
choice of hot and cold meals and snacks throughout the day from
10.00am to 5.00pm. Parties can be catered for by appointment.
Evening wedding parties are often held in the main hall and in the
Tudor room next to it, both of which are also used for civil
weddings, conferences and meetings
