Old Reception
Chantry Lodge (1969, listed Grade II 1971), as the
Reception is properly known, was designed in
1968 as a simple two storey house of domestic
character. Front casements to the first floor have diamond panes
typical of Clough's work. The arched doorway is left of centre with
another arch opening on the first floor and an arch opening onto
the estate yard. Chantry Lodge is used as the main reservations and
reception office for the village. The first floor is used for
administration offices. The village has forty rooms and suites, 14
in the main hotel and 26 in the surrounding village. There are also
seventeen self-catering cottages which sleep from two to eight
people.
